The future is in the past!

Hey guys, so do you actually know what everyone calls the division where I’m interning? 'The Moonshot Factory'. Like, okay, I’m clearly in the right place with my absolutely unhinged ideas, haha. But obviously, on paper, that’s not what it’s legally called. It’s either Google X or, if you wanna be super formal, X Development LLC. But honestly, who cares? The vibe stays the same. They basically worship the most out-there, insane ideas here—the bolder, the better.

But you know what’s wild? The stuff that looks like straight-up sci-fi today literally becomes just an everyday thing tomorrow. Take Waymo cars, for instance. They are everywhere out here. I actually took one to a conference the other day, and man, it navigates the chaotic city grid like an absolute boss. And no, it doesn’t drive like a maniac—it just weaves through traffic with total confidence and safety. But the best part? The car actually holds a sophisticated conversation and even cracks jokes! It literally wished me luck before I got out. Like, okay, flex much? And guess what—they built those right here in our lab.

So yeah, the future is literally now. Or, as my absolute favorite show Gravity Falls put it—remember that hilarious episode in the convenience store where Mabel says: 'The future is in the past!'. I swear I lost it laughing at that line for like an hour. But hey, turns out she was kinda onto something.
