Frames of an old reel skip across the wall,
In the monochrome light, you answer the call.
Charlie swings his cane, silent laughter falls,
You know this silver screen will outlast us all.
Such a funny era, silly little schemes,
We are safely distant from the boring dreams.


And though the conductor left the band behind,
Our ridiculous dancing is the joyful kind.
