To a Kindred Spirit

Among the oceans and the seas,
Among the fluffy clouds on high,
Among the branches of the trees,
Among the fields where fragrances lie, —

I know somewhere out there you are,
And I don't need a single thing more.
As sun exists and stars afar,
Distance doesn't make my heart sore.

We don't need to be side by side,
No need for pretty, empty phrases.
We each can just go with our tide
On our own life's diverse mazes.

Among the oceans and the seas,
Among the fluffy clouds so white, —
Some souls are closer, if you please,
Than any flower in morning light.
