Poison Winds

(Verse 1)
We built our towers to the sky, but left the ground in ruins,
Concrete seas and poison winds, the silence of the moons we killed.
We traded forests for the code, the animals for cold steel,
And every sunrise now feels like a wound that never heals.

The streets are painted red with greed, a dollar buys a life today,
While children sleep with empty eyes, the world just looks away.
We draw the borders in the dust, then burn the bridges down,
Our history is written in the ashes of a dying town.

(Pre-Chorus)
We look up at the distant stars, escaping from the mess we made,
As if the void could wash away the sins we’ve laid to waste.
We chase the light years through the dark, pretending we can start anew,
But can we really leave the chaos, or will it follow us right through?

(Chorus)
Why do we reach for the faraway cosmos, chasing galaxies above?
Shouldn’t we fix the broken Earth before we seek the stars we love?
What will we bring to those new worlds, when we land upon the unknown shore?
Will it be peace and harmony, or just the same chaos we had before?

(Verse 2)
We measure time in rocket fuel, forgetting time runs out for all,
We send our signals into space, while here, the walls are starting to fall.
The oceans breathe their final sigh, the ice melts into bitter tears,
We’re masters of destruction, but we’ve lost the art of healing fears.

We kill each other over lines we drew on maps of paper,
While the planet groans beneath our weight, its spirit growing weaker.
We call it progress, call it fate, but it feels more like a curse,
A race to leave this dying home, before it takes its final breath, of course.

(Bridge)
[Instrumental build-up – rising synths, evolving arpeggios, atmospheric pads]
Maybe the greatest journey isn’t out there in the black,
But deep inside our hearts and minds, to find the way we lost track.
To heal the wounds we’ve carved so deep, to learn to love the ground we stand,
Before we dare to touch the stars, we must become the change we planned.

[Breakdown – minimal beat, haunting vocal sample]
Heal the Earth… before we leave…
Heal the Earth… so we can believe…

(Outro)
The universe is vast and wide, but home is where the heart should start,
Let’s mend the damage, heal the scars, and play a different kind of part.
The stars will wait… the stars will wait…
The stars will wait.
