Dangerous Toys...
Where did all the children go?
One, two, buckle my shoe...
Now you make the rules.
We used to play in the sandbox sand,
Building castles with our tiny hands.
If we got mean or we picked a fight,
A voice would call out through the night:
"Go to the corner, sit on the chair,
Think about why it's not being fair."
But the sandbox grew, and the walls came down,
And now we’re playing with the entire town.
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,
Catch a nation by the toe.
If they holler, we don't let go,
We just pretend it’s all for show.
No one’s standing by the door
To send us to our rooms anymore.
No one to say "Now, that's not right,"
As the toy soldiers march into the night.
One, two, buckle my shoe,
Three, four, open the war.
Five, six, picking up sticks...
Only now they’re missiles, a deadly mix.
We traded our marbles for stocks and keys,
Traded our playgrounds for global disease.
But there is no mother, no teacher in sight,
To turn off the TV and dim the light.
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,
Catch a nation by the toe.
If they holler, we don't let go,
We just pretend it’s all for show.
No one’s standing by the door
To send us to our rooms anymore.
No one to say "Now, that's not right,"
As the toy soldiers march into the night.
Ten toy houses lined up in a row,
One wrong move and down they go.
There’s no one to catch them, no one to cry,
Just another toy soldier saying "Bye".
Eeny, meeny, miny, war,
Catch a nation by the toe.
If they holler, we don't let go,
We just pretend it’s all for show.
No one’s standing by the door
To send us to our rooms anymore.
No one to say "Now, that's not right,"
As the toy soldiers march into the night.
(Good night, kids)
My mom told me...
To pick the very best one...
And that is... you.
But the game is over.
And nobody won.
