On Parents’ Saturdays bestow
A priceless gift on souls below;
And perhaps for us as well,
When earthly passions lose their spell,
Someone shall light a candle bright,
Its little flame with holy light
Like Guardian Angels’ wings shall soar
And lead us home to God once more.
A grandchild’s prayer, both pure and mild,
Shall raise the soul through heaven’s wild…
For love – the sacred art above –
Is what the Lord teaches in love.
