Lilac Moon
Instead of your moon, unseen.
A rose-hued dawn it came to greet,
Where you had longed to be, it seemed.
On that lilac moon,
You wished to be alone, a silent plea.
Forgetting me,
you fell asleep beside your window's gleam.
When the day grew weary,
Just the same as always, it's true.
You flew so far away.
When this dream arose, not meant for me, a vision new.
You forgot it all, so easily.
You'll forget me on that lilac moon,
Perhaps just for a fleeting moment, it's true.
Leaving me a thread so fine,
Just a droplet of regret to call mine.
The sun shines brighter, warmer there,
No snow, no rain to make you care.
On that lilac moon, you'll cease to think of me
Just for a moment, trading your heart's anxiety
For that starlit plain,
Where all things are and nothing is.
When the day grew weary,
Just the same as always, it's true
You flew so far away.
You'll forget me on that lilac moon,
Perhaps just for a fleeting moment, it's true.
Leaving me a thread so fine,
Just a droplet of regret to call mine.
You'll forget me on that lilac moon,
Perhaps just for a fleeting moment, it's true.
Leaving me a thread so fine,
Just a droplet of regret to call mine.
