Reach Out to Me - EN Позвони мне, позвони!

This adaptation was inspired by the legendary Soviet song
«Позвони мне, позвони» (“Call Me, Call Me”)
from the 1982 film Carnival.

I didn’t want to simply translate the lyrics into English.
I wanted to preserve the emotional pulse, melodic energy and theatrical brightness of the original composition — while reimagining it through a new musical language and atmosphere.

Sometimes music travels through time, cultures and voices…
and still keeps the same beating heart.

Hurry up, give me a call,
Oh please, just hear me out.
Reach across the distance tall —
Your voice, a whisper, a shout.

Stars are fading in the night,
Have I lost all my pride?
Oh, to hear your voice so bright,
Oh, to hear your voice so bright —
The voice I've longed for deep inside.

The days just drift and disappear,
What's happening to me?
I'm begging you, please, hold me near,
I plead — just ring for me!

Reach out from so far away,
Let a thunder echo through
Above this starry, endless day —
A “hello” coming through!
Hear the sound, a sudden sign,
A telephone's sweet chime!

If in your life I have no place,
And my meaning's gone astray,
I'll erase you, leave no trace,
I'll be strong — I will not cry today!

I'll bear this ache, this heavy pain,
I'll still keep breathing air.
My happiness I will regain,
I swear — I'll find it there!

Reach out from so far away,
Let a thunder echo through
Above this starry, endless day —
A “hello” coming through!
Hear the sound, a sudden sign,
A telephone's sweet chime!

Even if you're not with me,
I'll find a way to shine.
My own path I will see,
This heart will still be mine.

Reach out from so far away,
Let a thunder echo through
Above this starry, endless day —
A “hello” coming through!
Hear the sound, a sudden sign,
A telephone's sweet chime!

Some songs refuse to stay in a single form.

This piece became a kind of musical twin to the earlier version — born from the same emotional world, yet gradually choosing its own voice, atmosphere and cinematic pulse.

And somewhere inside the static of the telephone line,
the old melody still remembers where it came from.
