Silence, and I alone

Within four walls again,
No windows, no doors...
So that no one peeks inside,
No one enters through a door...

And no ceiling overhead,
So I can gaze into the sky...
Howl at the moon at night...

Let the walls stretch into nowhere,
Straight, straight up to the heavens,
So when sorrow grips my soul,
I won’t be tempted to climb beyond...

Roll the floor in concrete,
Don’t spare the cement...
No, I don’t need a bed,
A couple of planks will be my rest...

That’s probably all...
Silence, and I alone,
I’ll try to understand life,
For it feels like I lived - yet never lived...
