Don t let me drown inside my own despair
My flesh and spirit tremble in its fire.
I whisper in my prayer through endless night:
“Must I alone bear all this grief and tire?”
I’m losing strength. I fall with every breath,
And gasp for air as if it were salvation.
The world around forgets my silent death,
My heart still longs for comfort, consolation.
Oh God, don’t leave me wandering in the dark—
Where hollow echoes roar and shadows break me.
Hold fragile shoulders in Your gentle mark
And ease the road that waits ahead to take me.
In torment of the soul don’t let me fall,
Don’t let me drown inside my own despair.
Don’t let disease steal reason, mind and all—
Grant time where pain and sorrow fade to air.
And if my path is wrapped in mist and fear,
Send just one ray—though faint, yet truly bright—
So life remains within me, warm and near,
And I may walk with You through every night.
