This Cloud

This cloud above us here,
So beautiful and light,
Over how many towns, unclear,
Has it sailed in flight?
And where is it rushing so fast?
Where does its journey end?
Perhaps it dreams at last
To touch the earth, descend.

In this cloud so high and grand,
I can see my own dream's light,
And I reach to it my hand,
Longing to embrace its flight.
And to fly with it in space,
And to share its every sorrow,
Drinking in its lovely grace,
To love, and be loved in glow.

In the cloud that sails on high,
I behold my future fate;
Just as lonely, drifting, I
Like a cloud I navigate.
And surrendered to the wind's command,
And entrusting to my fate,
Measuring every mile of land,
Hoping to reach you, soon or late.
