Readings from analog sensors by the use of web camera

Analog sensor readings can be easily converted to visible light by the use of simple LEDs. The illumination which comes from a led can be recorded by a web camera and translated to digital signal. In such way it is easy to turn your web camera into an analog-to-digital converter. L-Data measurements base is a software which allows to record images from a web camera and translate the light levels of given areas on the screen (with algorithm which omits the background and leaves only the LED) to digital signal and builds a chart on the screen. The data is posted to the web and can be viewed online at: Measurements Base Online Moreover, the software is capable of performing automation using the computer screen and the resulting sensor digital data can be used as parameter in automation logic. Using this method, it will be possible to read data from both single and differential sensors. This solution is much cheaper than the usual A-D converters and also works with all the possible devices such as smartphones, tablets and pcs.
