Oh, Lord of the great waters,
Keeper of the cosmic law (Rita).
Your gaze pierces through the darkness,
Great Varuna, hear my prayer.

In the fathomless ocean is your eternal throne,
You hold the threads of fate in your hands.
Wash away my sins with a sacred wave,
Purify my mind, dispel my fear.
No secret is hidden from your eyes,
You are the thousand-eyed witness of night and day.

Lord of the West, ruler of the rivers!
Let your mercy pour down like rain,
Grant us peace for all our days.
