She will return when the rains have passed,
Filling the soul with cold, drifting snow.
She will thaw out, just wait a little more,
Then she’ll leave without disturbing your peace.

Like tears, the raindrops will streak down the glass,
And snowflakes will dance in a silent round.
You won’t see through the cold swirling haze
How the ice in her voice quietly melts away.

The fir trees’ branches, like fluttering lashes,
Will shake off the snow scattered early at dawn.
She will return, there’s no doubt about that,
But not to you.
To someone who’s happy.

Winter has returned when the rains have passed,
Filling the soul with cold, drifting snow.
But the snow will melt, just wait a little more,
And turn into warm, golden sunny puddles.
