It s Ours to Choose
Without asking our leave:
If we’re ready to fall,
If we’ve strength to achieve,
If we’re healthy and fit,
If we’re young or we’re gray?
Without asking a bit,
Time has chosen our way.
But it’s our turn to choose
From the things that remain,
From the truths we might lose,
That won't vanish or wane.
To choose goodness and grace
Not from fear, but for right,
Or pick evil’s embrace
By its size and its might.
Now’s the moment to choose,
Not some day far ahead,
Will we walk in man's shoes
Or be cattle instead?
Will we burn through our days
Or as monks find our peace?
Count the stars through the haze
Or let riches increase?
We must choose on our own,
No one helps with the blow.
If you’re fell like a stone,
Rise and take one more go.
Make a choice, make a choice,
Every hour, every day.
Since it gave us a voice,
Time has chosen our way.
I must choose for myself
On this day from the store,
What was laid on the shelf
In the ages before:
To choose goodness and grace
Not from fear, but for right,
Or pick evil’s embrace
By its size and its might.
Under stars in the sky,
In this life on the ground,
With ourselves, you and I,
In a battle we’re bound.
To choose goodness and grace
Not from fear, but for right,
Or pick evil’s embrace
Where the darkness is slight!
Where the darkness is slight...
