Источник этот исцелил слепого,
явилась Богородица Сама
и предсказала Льву Маркеллу, что он
станет царем Константинополя.

построил храм тогда Лев в благодарность,
и византийцы шли сюда всегда -
и многие больные исцелялись
и укреплялась вера во Христа.

но после заключенья униатства,
падения Константинополя -
храм за грехи разрушили османцы,
но списки сохранились и листки

со списками чудес и исцелений,
и добрый ко Христу султан Махмуд
поволил храм воздвигнуть уже третий -
так он доселе и сохранился тут.

иконы списки очень впечатляют -
архангела вокруг Нее стоят,
и токи струй просящих исцеляют,
и не иссякнет струй чудесопад.

Четвертого апреля состоялось
явленье Богородицы ко Льву -
и в пятницу - чтоб воды освящались
на Светлую Седмицу ее чтут!

This spring healed a blind man, the Virgin Mary
herself appeared and predicted to
Wishing to help the warrior Leo Marcellus
that he'd be the king of Constantinople.

In gratitude then Leo built a temple,
and the Byzantines always came here — and
many of the sick people were healed there,
and faith in Christ was by these wonders strengthened.

But after the Uniate Church and the fall
of Constantinople, temple was destroyed
by the Muslims for the sins of betrayers,
but icon's copies, leaflets survived all,

with the lists of some miracles and healings,
and Sultan Mahmud, who was kind to Christ,
allowed the construction of the third church —
and so it remains here up till now.

The icon of the Spring is so impressive —
Archangels stand around Her, and streams
of water heal those who are asking help, and
the falls of streams of wonders never cease.

On April 4th - the Virgin came to Leo -
And on this day since the 5th century
We celebrate, and with the water blessing
she's honored on the Friday of Bright Week!
