The Light or the Dark
Walking the razor's edge, staring down at my fate.
It cut through the night but it left my soul bare,
Hope still remains, I will shatter the snare.
The fire inside burns it all down to ash,
My world was so bright till it met with the crash.
Scars and the pain are the marks of the test,
Accepted in quiet, without any protest.
I'll tear my soul open like a pressure-filled vein,
Or else it'll explode, driving me insane.
Who will win? The Light or the Dark?
Neverending struggle is tearing me apart.
Two clashing powers are never to blend.
The suffering's heavy, it never will end.
Who will win? The Light or the Dark?
Neverending struggle is tearing me apart.
Two clashing powers are never to blend.
The suffering's heavy, it never will end.
Thoughts like lightning flash through the still, heavy air,
While I slowly sink down, stripped of a prayer.
No comfort in dreaming, just hollow remain,
Only the fading, the void, and the pain.
My vision goes black, silence in my ears,
That clinging, cold terror resurfaces here.
But I choose to keep fighting, to push through the night,
Hoping to conquer my fate in the fight.
I'm no Phoenix rising to fly from the flame,
But only burnt out can I quiet the pain.
Who will win? The Light or the Dark?
Neverending struggle is tearing me apart.
Two clashing powers are never to blend.
The suffering's heavy, it never will end.
I'm not searching for redemption,
I'm my own punishment, my own salvation.
Who will win? The Light or the Dark?
Neverending struggle is tearing me apart.
Two clashing powers are never to blend.
The suffering's heavy, it never will end.
