my madness

My madness — your velvet minor tone,
My mind goes under, left alone.
My heart breaks loose, it can’t stay still,
Too tight inside my ribs — it spills.

Don’t say the word — don’t let it live,
There’s nothing left that I can give.
One sound from you — and I’m undone,
That word will kill me when it comes.

I’ll steal your careless, drifting glance,
And hide it in the dark of chance.
Where every touch is sharp and blind,
And every kiss is a sacred crime.

The linden-scented city sleeps,
Your palm is cold, so light, so deep.
I fall, I rise, then fall once more,
Like waves that break against the shore.

Be silent now — don’t cross that line,
That word is burning inside your mind.
It’s there, it breathes, it waits, it stays…
Unsaid — but louder than a name.
