Prayer to Ambrose Edward Barlow
Who walked the secret paths, carrying the Light into England's twilight.
As I broke the bread in the upper room, so did he share My Body,
Fearing no chains, seeking no earthly glory, only Your faithfulness.
Припев
Saint Ambrose, silent martyr, shepherd of the Lancashire fields,
Pray for us, that our faith may be harder than steel and purer than fire.
You, who took up your cross with the meekness of the Lamb,
Teach us to love our enemies and stand for the Truth until the final breath.
Within the prison walls, you sang psalms, as I did in Gethsemane,
Your spirit wavered not before the sword and the unrighteous judgment.
Your blood became the seed, the fruit of which is eternal Life,
Lead us to the Father, through the thorns to the radiance of the everlasting day.
Hear us, O Lord, through the prayers of Your witness.
Grant us the courage to be the salt of the earth.
Amen. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
