Conversation with the Soul
A traveler walked a forest way,
A cold spring wind began to sway.
His heavy pack pressed on his shoulders,
And evening came — dark, grim and colder.
His legs and back were sore with strain,
A faint dizziness in his brain.
A weary gaze… cold drops of sweat—
“Where does this longing lead me yet?”
Verse 2
There is no place on this vast earth
Where my tired soul could truly rest.
Alone among the crowd of men…
Let life just pass me quickly then…
His thoughts stood still in silent waiting
When suddenly he saw a glow
That gently pierced the misty veil.
“Is this real… or just a tale?”
Verse 3
Fatigue and trembling made him feel
That he must find a place to sleep.
And still that light disturbed his mind—
“But let it be,” he had resigned.
He stepped onto a quiet glade
And saw a little earthen shade.
Such silence filled the quiet night…
Yet in his mind it rang so bright.
Verse 4
The fire burned, the smoke would rise.
“Once I was young,” he said with sighs.
“I worked so hard and built my home…”
A sudden lump rose in his throat.
“But later… childhood friend betrayed,
My wife had gone, the circle closed.
My children grew up far away
And built their homes and lives their way.”
Verse 5
He sat beside the warming flame
And thought in silence of his pain:
“No one needs me anymore,
I’ve grown so weary to the core.”
He watched the fire in silent glow…
And suddenly he saw his soul.
His fear dissolved and slipped away —
He didn’t know to laugh or pray.
Verse 6
He knew his path was not in vain —
He had to find himself again.
His life he gave to others’ care,
Forgetting dreams once living there.
His soul looked back into his eyes…
And slowly hope began to rise.
And suddenly the road was clear,
His spirit cleansed from doubt and fear.
Verse 7
“You came into this world to go
Along the path you’re meant to know:
To know yourself, to learn to love,
And find the freedom high above.
Forget your fears and need to please,
Accept both loss and moments of peace.
With gratitude embrace your days —
When life is done, you’ll find your rest.”
Verse 8
“Look back — behind you lies the night,
And emptiness remains in sight.
But now go forward on your way —
Trust the compass, do not stray.
What lies ahead I cannot see,
And that’s the truth of destiny.
No messenger can there be sent —
I will walk this path with you till the end.”
