Summer s Sweet Embrace

The sun shines bright, the air so clear,
At last, sweet spring is drawing near.
No gifts we seek, no sleep we keep,
For summer’s call runs rich and deep.

The garden waits, the soil is turned,
In hopeful rows, the seedlings yearned.
Just spare the rain, let sprouts arise,
And bless the earth with golden skies.

The greenhouse gleams, the earth is warm,
I plant with care, protect from storm.
With gentle hands and water’s grace,
I watch new life embrace its place.

Then June will come with gifts so sweet,
Young cucumbers, crisp to eat.
And every vine, each leaf so green,
Will weave a lush and vibrant scene.

All day I’ll toil ’neath sun’s fierce glow,
But harvest’s joy will overflow.
When winter’s chill creeps in once more,
I’ll dream of sun-kissed days of yore.

Oh, summer, how I love your light!
Yet fleeting, you take swiftest flight.
I waited long to see your face,
Now here you are - my sweet embrace.

In my old chair, I watch the sky,
Sip cool ale as sunbeams die.
With spring’s last blush and twilight’s hue,
I drink to summer - bright and true.
