You'll never know the way I feel inside,
the secret thoughts I always try to hide.
I lose my breath whenever you are near,
I need a sign to make the answer clear.

I get so nervous that I start to shake,
like every move I make is a mistake.
I even hate the mirror on the wall,
I feel so shy, I feel so very small.

I'm just fifteen, all awkward and so plain,
it's like I'm standing out here in the rain.
This clumsy shyness makes me want to cry,
I'm mad at all the world, and I don't know why.

Out in the hallways, during every break,
I see you with my friends, and my heart aches.
You have no clue how much it hurts to see,
the world turns grey when you don't look at me.

Maybe it's just a dream that's bound to break,
a million tiny pieces in your wake.
I'm hoping fate will finally play its part,
and you will see the girl with the lonely heart.

Then all the things I'm hiding will awake,
the hidden dreams I keep for your own sake.
I'll simply wait for you to turn your head,
with all these words that I have never said.
