Peculiar Girl

Hey everyone, so I was thinking, when you picture me, do you imagine I still hold someone's hand when I walk around? Yeah, that's not really my scene anymore. Like, I'm not just strolling around town by myself, and I've def done some solo traveling. Okay, I didn't exactly fly myself** to other countries, but I'd get a ride to the airport, get a little wave goodbye, and then I'd breeze through security and customs all on my own. Honestly, it's so routine now, like, super basic. And it's not just for the big trips, either. I’ve taken the train by myself to visit relatives in another city. For me, that's a chance to chat with people, to discover new things. But, you know, my experience is that most folks aren't exactly lining up to strike up a conversation. They seem kind of… stiff.

So, I was on this train, right? And I’m in my compartment, and there’s this guy across from me, and he’s just staring out the window with this really intense, put-together look on his face. I couldn't help but giggle a little inside because he looked so very serious. It totally reminded me of that meme, you know? Anyway, it got me thinking, so I finally asked him, "So, do you think we'll actually make it to our destination?" He tensed up even more, his eyes darted around, and then he goes, in this weirdly guarded way, "Well, why wouldn't we?" And I just hit him back with, "Well, you know, anything can happen on the road, that's what makes it the road!" He looked at me again, all bunched up, and I just excused myself before I burst out laughing. So yeah, when I'm traveling, I'm not just glued to my phone the whole time. I mean, I'll check the time or answer a call if I have to, but that's about it.

**Alright, so you wonderful folks out there, did you catch that little wordplay I threw in? I was hinting that I wasn't piloting the plane myself, but rather embarking on this journey all on my own, sans any grown-ups. Pretty straightforward, right?
