Desire
I whisper secrets to the wall.
Your laughter rings like silver bells,
But in my chest, a hollow swells.
I trace your name in morning dew,
Yet you see skies of someone new.
My heart beats loud, a desperate drum,
While yours stays calm, forever numb.
The words I weave stay locked inside,
A river deep I cannot hide.
You walk away with graceful stride,
Leaving me here, with love denied.
Each glance you give is kind but brief,
It cuts my soul like autumn leaf.
I dream of us beneath the stars,
But wake alone with fading scars.
Oh, cruel fate that keeps us apart,
You hold my world, yet own no part.
My love for you, an endless fire,
Burns bright for one who’ll never tire…
Of never seeing my desire.
