Little White Wolf
Thought the moon was a throne I’d possess
I’d chase shadows and call them my crown
Till you pulled me from the dark without a sound
You found me small, you called me yours
Not for the fur, not for the claws
Just because I showed up at your door
With nothing but a heart that was raw
I used to dream of forests I’d rule
Now I’m happy sleeping by your stool
You scratch my ears and I forget the fight
You say my name and I see light
I’m not the beast they told stories about
Just a white furball who learned to trust out loud
You gave me safety without a chain
And I gave you everything I am
I am the little white wolf who thinks he’s a king
But my only kingdom is the warmth you bring
I’ll howl at the stars, but they don’t hear a thing
You’re the one who listens when I sing
I thought I was great, but now I see
The only greatness is you and me
They told me I was made of ice and teeth
But you saw the soft beneath
You held me when I shivered from the cold
Now I’m yours until I’m old
