White snow kisses my cheeks so softly
Falls to earth with a laughing sigh.
Tonight I long for you only –
You have broken what once was our tie.
You chose not to fly through the open sky,
Like that whimsical, fairy tale snow.
Could not hold me with warmth in your eyes –
And forgot that I’m human, I know.
You stepped back, sank down, closed the door,
Like still water turning to ice.
Only grace can lift me once more,
And the love of the Father, so wise.
