Burnt-out Hearts

The world can’t be saved from anger’s flame
By burnt out hearts, devoid of grace;
It stains the sky, feeds on the shame
Of unchecked passions we embrace.

When you say “Hello!” with open heart,
But meet a gaze both cold and stark,
You long to vanish, turn to dust,
To hide away where shadows rust.

How sweet it is when smiles take flight,
And warmth awakens hearts once cold –
You’ve got one chance, one shining light,
To show real love, both brave and bold.

Resist the urge to stoke the fire,
Don’t mirror hate, don’t fuel the strife.
Be patient, calm – let kindness rise higher,
Fight for what’s right through all of life.
