Where Does the Cosmos Begin
With a picture from my book within!
With signs and echoes, dark and bright,
Of good and evil, wrong and right.
With vision wide enough to see
The world in whole, eternally –
At midnight hush, at sunrise gleam,
In doubt, in hope, in quest and dream.
With questions once believed complete,
Whose answers none could still repeat.
For all of us were taught the ways
Of orbits and of social maze.
The cosmos is – foreboding slight,
A dream, a spark, a breath of light.
It’s stillness, will, renunciation,
And self-rebirth through revelation.
The cosmos starts – right here, in me,
Beyond my back – its wings set free!
When suddenly I feel embraced
By all creation, interlaced –
By cosmic love, by sorrow vast,
That binds the future to the past.
