No Stop, No Key

How many stops did you see on your way?
How many clouds covered sky today?
If it feels like you should run from yourself,
I believe your mood makes this grey day.

Signs tell me “stop,” but I go against.
If I were a dog, I would chew my chain,
’Cause I want to dream and belong to myself.
Sometimes you can wait for a hand of help.

Let me try to build who I’d like to be.
Fall and love have gone, and we have been free.
I feel ash as we do, and leaves—nude as trees.
I don’t see a stop, nor do I see a key.
