The Night Is Watching

Miles above the ground,
In black seas—a swarm of stars.
I dive headlong
Into the yawning dark.

Arms outstretched — like a cross!
The tree groans in a creepy voice,
The wind is crying in the hollows
Like the tired bells of churches

My lenses crack, a spider's trace,
Pieces of the sky fall into my face.
A tremor rides from head to heel,
The sky and stars begin to peel.

Stillness falls like stone...
Night sinks alone to the deep.
I barely notice—
How she’s watching me...

My lenses crack, a spider's trace,
Pieces of the sky fall into my face.
A tremor rides from head to heel,
The sky and stars begin to peel.

She’s been watching me...
She’s been watching me...
She’s been watching me...
She’s been watching me...
