Love Is In Me
Just yesterday, through his hair, these fingers could run
The warmth from my hands paving the way.
We felt the kinship of multilingual souls -
Once he was named my husband by those who reside in the sky,
Once I was one of his playful dolls,
A bird of the white day, an elusive firefly.
How how how much love is in me?
How many have I met - being on my path
The air for wings, a drop of water in the fire,
The brick of the wall, a forge of hearth,
I cherished them – like a river laves the banks of desire.
So so so much love is in me – to the cathedral in three,
I am filling a bucket of berries smothered in the summer breeze,
Sowing the fields of hope, squeezing the heart’s content for free
How much love is in me?
To the cathedral in three
Oh I want to break free
So much love is in me
