Summer

The old search for a brand new kind of bliss,
A tender flight is caught inside a storm.
So many wishes, freedoms that I miss,
Like reading forecasts that won't keep me warm.

An old acquaintance. Hello and goodbye.
These tears of sorrow weren't accidental.
This love affair arrived and caught me by surprise...
My only answer’s silence — monumental.

These precious moments, shared between us two,
These moments ticking 'til our life is through.
"But nothing lasts forever," said the wise old man.
A walk on a razor's edge was not the plan.

You are a sunbeam, a gift from the summer.
You are the warm rain that falls in September.
You are the soft breeze, warmed by that sun's fire.
My person, found in my October pyre.

Anxiety, weariness, and shades of grey.
And jealousy strikes my own friend in the fray.
You're a lone wolf, and I'm not used to this.
A life of trouble sealed with just a kiss.

To catch your feelings, to torment my own mind...
Danger...
A blade...
Su*cide.
