I dream a world

I dream a world
that's not quite real,
Where joy runs fast,
and wounds don't heal.

Love departs in a swift,
cruel trick,
In this wild dream,
hope won't stick.

Lies take over,
trust is thrown,
Passion turns to hate,
kindness overthrown.

Bridges are on fire,
the past is lost,
In this mad vision,
faith is the cost.

War dances with death,
homes fall to dust,
In the storm of disaster,
life is unjust.

But when I wake,
the dream does cease,
In the real world,
I see only joy and peace.
