Nina-Matthias Grishaverse 2022

Annual fun. A short poem about any fandom couple for St.V.Day.

As the most part of last year I've been reading about Grishaverse by  Leigh Bardugo, the victims of my poetry today are Matthias Helvar and Nina Zenik.

Warning! spoiler: character death.

“The water hears and understands.” -
“The ice does not forgive.”
Though death is what our story ends,
The love will forever live.

You called me a witch, you have caught me up,
I saved you in frozen sea.
I hated what your superstitious staff
'd been doing to people like me.

Boy's clouded mind I expected to change
By thoughts of promoting peace.
You were so virtuous, honest and chaste,
I temped and passion increased.

In opposites' unity was a special charm -
Hot south and stringent north.
_As tender lovers, we meant any harm,
But not so as outlaws.

“No mournings, no funerals” - that's our fate,
However, with me you enjoyed
Delicious and sugary sweet waffels' taste
And song of little red bird.
