Whispers of Regret

A cycle of poems «Everything Hurts and I Am Almost Famous»

I hear the whispers in the silence,
Echoes of the things I left unsaid,
Shadows crawling through my conscience,
Haunting every step I tread.

Words I never got to say,
Burning like a fire inside,
Caught between the night and day,
Where all my broken dreams collide.

And I’m screaming to the sky,
But no one hears my cries,
Trapped inside this endless fight -

Whispers of regret, they call my name,
Ghosts of yesterday, they fan the flame,
I’m chasing shadows, lost in pain,
Trying to break free but it’s all in vain.
Whispers of regret, they never fade,
Like a song that’s stuck on replay,
I’m holding on but I’m slipping away -
Drowning in the whispers of regret today.

I see your face in every mirror,
A reflection of what could’ve been,
Memories getting clearer,
Of mistakes I can’t unsee again.

If I could turn back time,
I’d rewrite all the lines,
But the past is a cruel friend -
It’s a story with no end.

And I’m screaming to the sky,
But no one hears my cries,
Trapped inside this endless fight -

Whispers of regret, they call my name,
Ghosts of yesterday, they fan the flame,
I’m chasing shadows, lost in pain,
Trying to break free but it’s all in vain.
Whispers of regret, they never fade,
Like a song that’s stuck on replay,
I’m holding on but I’m slipping away -
Drowning in the whispers of regret today.

Maybe someday I’ll find release,
A way to silence all this grief,
Till then these whispers won’t let go -
A haunting melody I know.

Whispers of regret, they call my name,
Ghosts of yesterday, they fan the flame,
I’m chasing shadows, lost in pain,
Trying to break free but it’s all in vain.
Whispers of regret, they never fade,
Like a song that’s stuck on replay,
I’m holding on but I’m slipping away -
Drowning in the whispers of regret today.
