Scarred but Starry-Eyed
I’ve been running through the fire,
Chasing dreams that never stay,
Bruised and broken, but I’m trying,
To find my light inside the gray.
Every scar tells a story,
Of battles lost and won,
I’m standing here, a little shaky,
But I’m not undone.
And even when the night feels endless,
I still believe in better days,
With every fall, I’m learning how to fly -
I’m scarred but starry-eyed,
Fighting through the tears I hide,
Worn out shoes on this wild ride,
But I’m alive, yeah, I’m alive.
No matter how hard the world tries,
I’ll keep my heart open wide,
Scarred but starry-eyed -
I’m alive.
The shadows try to pull me under,
Whispers telling me to quit,
But there’s a fire burning louder,
A rebel soul that won’t submit.
Every crack is just a window,
To the dreams I hold inside,
I’m not perfect, just persistent -
And I won’t be denied.
Even when the night feels endless,
I still believe in better days,
With every fall, I’m learning how to fly -
I’m scarred but starry-eyed,
Fighting through the tears I hide,
Worn out shoes on this wild ride,
But I’m alive, yeah, I’m alive.
No matter how hard the world tries,
I’ll keep my heart open wide,
Scarred but starry-eyed -
I’m alive.
And if the world breaks me down,
I’ll build myself up from the ground,
With every scar and every fight,
I’ll shine my light into the night.
I’m scarred but starry-eyed,
Fighting through the tears I hide,
Worn out shoes on this wild ride,
But I’m alive, yeah, I’m alive.
No matter how hard the world tries,
I’ll keep my heart open wide,
Scarred but starry-eyed -
I’m alive.
