Hiding cracks beneath my skin,
Fighting wars I’ll never win.

Every tear I won’t display,
Masks the truth I hide away.

I’m not fine, but I’ll smile anyway,
Walk through the night, chase light of day.
Broken inside, still I’ll play,
This charade I wear, come what may.

Silent screams behind my eyes,
Drowning pain in whispered lies.
Shadows crawl beneath my skin,
Fading out where hope grew thin.

Every tear I won’t display,

I’m not fine, but I’ll smile anyway,
Walk through the night, chase light of day.
Broken inside, still I’ll play,
This charade I wear, come what may.

Fractured heart beneath the grin,
Battles lost I hide within.
Every step feels out of place,
But I’ll keep on this endless race.

If you look inside my eyes,
You’ll see through my brave disguise.
But I’ll stand till break of day,
Even if I’m torn away.
