You Were My Favorite Storm

A cycle of poems «The Last Letter I Burned Was My Own»

Dark clouds roll in through my veins,
Lightning strikes and brings the pain.

You crashed into my quiet shore,
A wild force I can’t ignore.

You were my favorite storm, my thunder’s roar,
Breaking all my walls, but I wanted more.
In the eye of chaos where I was reborn,
I lost myself 'cause you were my favorite storm.

Winds that tore through my fragile mind,
Left the past and hope behind.
In your fury, I found fire,
But flames consumed my heart’s desire.

You crashed into my quiet shore,
A wild force I can’t ignore.

You were my favorite storm, my thunder’s roar,
Breaking all my walls, but I wanted more.
In the eye of chaos where I was reborn,
I lost myself 'cause you were my favorite storm.

Rain fell heavy, drowned my plea,
Whispers lost beneath the sea.
I chased the thunder, chased the pain,
Only to be left in vain.

After all the lightning’s fall,
I’m just a ghost behind the wall.
Your storm has passed but I remain,
Broken in the endless rain.

Dark clouds still haunt the empty space,
You were my storm I can’t replace.
