Dust Settles Where We Stood

A cycle of poems «This Is How We Disappear»

Silent echoes fill the air,
Broken dreams and cold despair.
Shadows fall where once we stood,
Dust settles where we stood.

Fading traces, lost and torn,
Memories of what was born.

Dust settles where we stood,
Forgotten in the shifting wood.
Time erases every sign,
Of your heart once close to mine.
Dust settles where we stood,
Beneath the ruins of the good.
Though the past is understood,
Dust settles where we stood.

Cracked earth beneath our feet,
Silent vows we can’t repeat.
Every word now turned to stone,
Left to stand alone.

Fading traces, lost and torn,
Memories of what was born.

Dust settles where we stood,
Forgotten in the shifting wood.
Time erases every sign,
Of your heart once close to mine.
Dust settles where we stood,
Beneath the ruins of the good.
Though the past is understood,
Dust settles where we stood.

Empty skies and hollow winds,
Echoes of our bitter sins.
In the silence, cold and crude,
Dust settles where we stood.

No light remains to break the gloom,
No flower grows upon this tomb.
In every breath, in every mood,
Dust settles where we stood.

Silent echoes fill the air,
Broken dreams and cold despair.
Shadows fall where once we stood,
Dust settles where we stood.
