Dissolving in Plain Sight
I scream, but the silence swallows my voice,
A ghost in the light, I’ve no weight, no choice.
The world moves on while I fade from view,
A shadow consumed by a sky turned blue.
No hand reaches out when I start to fall,
Just echoes that answer inside this hall.
My name slips away like breath in the cold,
A story unwritten, a soul sold and old.
Dissolving in plain sight, vanishing slow,
While faces pass over me, never know.
I burn with a fire they cannot see,
But turn into dust silently.
I wear my scars like armor too thin,
Each step through the crowd feels like giving in.
They look through my eyes, not a flicker, no spark,
A man made of smoke lost inside the dark.
I carved out a life with trembling hands,
Built castles of hope on sinking sands.
Now laughter rings hollow, a cruel, distant sound,
As I sink without trace into cursed ground.
One day they’ll notice the space where I stood,
A chill in the air, a gap in the wood.
But I’ll be long gone - just ash in the wind,
A whisper erased, where silence begins.
So play my requiem loud in the night,
For one who was here - but not in their sight.
Let thunder roll for what died unseen…
Dissolved in the world… forever unclean.
