We Drowned in Each Other s Bad Habits

A cycle of poems «Your Kiss Tasted Like a Late-Night Regret»

Neon flickers in the pouring rain,
Empty bottles, tangled hearts in pain.
We chased the dark, ignored the cost,
Two broken souls, together lost.

We lit up the night with a spark we couldn’t tame,
Craving the chaos, never naming the blame.

We drowned in each other’s bad habits,
Pulled under by comfort we couldn’t quit.
Tried to break free, but we’d just relive it-
We drowned in each other’s bad habits.

Ash on the carpet, secrets in your eyes,
Promises whispered, tangled in lies.
We kept falling deeper, too stubborn to change,
Bound by the poison we couldn’t rearrange.

Now silence screams where laughter used to ring,
Memories echo, but they cut like a sting.
Wish we’d learned to swim before the flood began,
But we held on tight and let the damage stand.

Neon’s faded, rain has washed us clean,
But the scars remain where we’ve both been.
We drowned in each other’s bad habits-
And now I’m just learning to breathe again.
