Boris Bakhmetyev: From a geopolitical perspective, 2026 has begun quite turbulently. Moving forward, this momentum is likely only to increase. Based on open-source data, the following events can be expected in the foreseeable future, among others:
A strike by the U.S. and Israel on Iran with the aim of toppling the rule of the spiritual leaders;
China’s seizure of Taiwan;
The U.S. seizure of Greenland;
Trade disputes between the U.S. and the EU and Canada;
The de facto collapse of NATO;
The end or protraction of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with internal political developments unfolding in both countries as a result;
The start of impeachment proceedings against U.S. President D.Trump.
As the French say, with a poor command of the Russian language, "budem posmotret" (we shall see)...»
