A Bitter Joke of Fate
Why did it slash my heart like a razor blade?
Fate, like a cheap hooker, wouldn't let me be,
Another war for happiness has now been staged.
My soul is like the sun, it’s burning bright,
But I don’t feel the thrill of life at all.
The ice between us won't melt in the light,
I love you, but my own soul I condemn to fall.
Your features seem a little bit distressed,
You’re like an angel fallen from the blue.
A goddess, impossible and blessed,
As mysterious as a dark forest view.
It ended in a clich;, all we had,
"Let’s just be friends," you said so easily.
How could you forget the feelings, good and bad?
How could you forget our nights and ecstasy?
Remember how it all began so sweet?
Eye to eye, for hours we would talk.
I remember when you said our love’s complete,
Though we were opposite poles on a different walk.
Your features seem a little bit distressed,
You’re like an angel fallen from the blue.
A goddess, impossible and blessed,
As mysterious as a dark forest view.
And now we’ve finally reached the breaking point,
A gloomy morning and the stormy weather.
Each on our own, the times are out of joint,
That’s Murphy’s Law — we’re no more together.
Why did I throw my soul beneath your feet?
Just so your path would be a softer road.
My soul lies in the dust of every street,
And my heart? It just broke under the load.
