Among the northern currents flow 
A land of green where ice winds blow, 
Where reindeer herds in freedom roam, 
And endless fields of ice become their home! 
White-tailed eagles circle in the sky, 
Above their native land they fly, 
This wild and pristine northern shore 
Guards against all dangers evermore!

The Arctic wolf hunts in the night, 
With fish and walrus in his sight, 
This radiant, cold and crystal land, 
Where evil hearts cannot withstand. 
The fjords are settled, warm and dear, 
Where polar bears have lived for years. 
For centuries the Inuit race 
Has practiced hunting in this place!

The eastern wind brings joyful cheer, 
New thoughts and ideas appear, 
The songs of Vikings about summer days 
Across the snowy plains will blaze. 
They go to hunt the mighty whale 
With harpoons that will never fail, 
Their work is hard, their lives are tough, 
Century by century, day by day enough.

But suddenly the eagle came 
From southern lands to stake his claim, 
He wants this harsh and frozen ground 
Within his talons to be bound. 
The southern sharks began to creep

Their ways of revelry and strife 
Are foreign to this northern life.
