Sleepless Lines
I keep my duty to my homeland.
In the silence of the night, dreams fly,
Thoughts of home tugging at my heartstrings.
I hold the phone in my hands,
I look at photos of loved ones.
Children's smiles, tender glances—
My soul and heart so long to return to them.
When silence comes,
I see dreams where there is no war,
Where we are together again,
And happiness fills the house.
I stand for my family,
I protect my native country.
And though separation is hard—
My love is stronger than my enemy.
You know, I don't sleep at night,
But I breathe this air.
Alive, in love, not full of strength,
But I have preserved the world for you.
You know, I don't sleep at night,
I keep my longing in my chest. Work, service, and orders—
I don't close my eyes.
In the stillness of the night, I look at my phone,
It holds images of my loved ones, how sweet their sleep.
Family, friends—all that I dream of,
That I long for with all my heart and miss here.
When all around me grows quiet,
And the stars form a tight circle of night,
I dream of peaceful Russian days,
Where there is no anxiety in our slumbers.
But I breathe, but I love,
But I preserve my honor.
And though separation is difficult—
My love for my wife is strong.
I defend my country,
I do not abandon my duty and honor.
And know that at night I do not sleep,
So that those I love may live in peace.
I can't sleep again in the dugout,
Only thoughts of you, Anastasia. Work, duty, and the true path,
keep me awake.
On the screen I see people,
my family and close friends.
I'm ready to give everything for them,
to guard the borders of my home.
My soul aches from the bitter words,
that I told you, from the foolish words.
The love of my children guides me,
while my country is strong.
