Straight into enchanted forest
Following the silver flakes
Armed with a loaded rifle and focused
I went hunting yesterday.
Didn’t leave a single step on
Clear and smooth, white woodland path…
Who was sneaking there on tiptoe?
Who has fallen, who has left?
I’ll come closer: a fluffy snow
Is completely slashed and cracked.
Someone strange was there, for sure.
Here’s the claw marks, farther – track…
If I only knew the secret
Of the charming bizarre talks
I would surely try to figure
Out who spends nights here and roams.
I would hide behind a fir tree
Just to take a look around:
Who is leaving traces – roughly –
On the snow-covered ground?..
