Три дочери Мары явились под деревом к Будде,
Когда он уже на четвертых бывал небесах.
И в образах пятисот женщин от дев до старухи
Его соблазняли - вниманья он не обращал.

Тогда опечалился злой их отец смерти-Мара.
Но Танха, Арати и Рага сказали ему:
Его совратим мы с пути, не печалься ты, папа.
И Танха пошла, приглашать его к дружбе, в семью.

Но Будда сказал, что в нем нет к развлечениям ЖАЖДЫ,
Он Сосредоточенность - чувствам пяти предпочел.
И в сердце своем открывает он истины важность,
И жажда желаний ему ни к чему, нипочем.

Арати пришла - это вечное всем недовольство,
Отчаянье, скука, уныние, вечный протест.
Но Будда сказал: над пятью он шестое знал чувство.
В сплетенье спокоен, и сладостен каждый момент:

В самадхи без мыслей, не движется, не застывает,
Пять чувств переплыл - и шестое он переплывет,
Он выше стал всех наслаждений и чувств восприятий,
Не могут они ухватить его, зная предел.

А Рага - привязанность, страсть, сильный жар увлеченья
Он преодолел Наблюдением как бы совне,
Без зависти - ибо нет "я" - нет и гордости плена,
И каждого, как и себя, учит он просветлеть!

Arati came then — that eternal with all discontent,
Despair and boredom, despondency, protest forever.
But the Buddha said: above the five, he knew the sixth - brain
Above feeling. He's calm in every sweet blink interweaving:

He is in samadhi, without thought, unmoving, no waves,
He has swum across the five senses—he'll swim the sixth also,
Has risen above all perceptions and pleasures of sense,
So they cannot grasp him, because their limits he knows.

And Raga — attachment, intense heat of infatuation
He has overcome by observing as if from without,
Without envy — for there is no "I"— no pride fascination,
As well as himself, to enlightenment he leads every one!
