The Ballerina
Lyrics by Tatyana Zaluzhnaya.
Behind the glass, for passing eyes,
She danced beneath the neon lights.
A clockwork smile, a fragile spin,
A perfect pose, a porcelain grin.
But when the city lost its breath,
And midnight crossed the silent streets,
In the tired city, miracles begin —
The ballerina comes alive within.
She breaks the frame, she learns to fly,
She lifts her dreams into the sky.
The ballerina comes alive,
And disappears into the night.
At dawn she’s back where she belongs,
A frozen smile, a practiced pose.
For every face, for every stare,
She plays her role - she’s always there.
But when the windows turn to stars,
And shadows soften all the scars,
In the tired city, miracles begin —
The ballerina comes alive within.
She breaks the frame, she learns to fly,
She lifts her dreams into the sky.
The ballerina comes alive,
And disappears into the night.
One day I passed her in the crowd,
And softly whispered, not aloud:
“Oh ballerina, don’t you see -
You look so much like me…”
In the tired city, miracles begin —
The ballerina comes alive within.
She breaks the frame, she learns to fly,
She lifts her dreams into the sky.
The ballerina comes alive,
And disappears into the night.
