Поезд жизни. The train of life

With some verses, the stars
made me marry the Muse.
“God! – a seagull’s cry burst, –
Look, the sea is in fire!
Still, the life train goes on,
pain is seizing my throat,
strength is melting away,
yet, it’s nothing at all.

Shadows dance, – they took off
the oblivion chains.
Souls groan at dark,
and the Devil wags tail.
Fools abuse magic wands,
fox is sniffing good luck,
and the wise one sees God
in the simplest things.

I’m drawn to the myth
of emergency brakes.
In the looking-glass world,
Heaven keeps answers locked.
Others think, I’m sick:
so early and hard,
I am seeking the dawn
in the heart of the night.

Oh, my mind drives me mad:
I met beasts in each one,
and instead of love songs,
every word is a boom.
Is it true? – tell me ‘Not’…
There’re rumors, they say,
that the Driver is dead,
and the train’s rushing blind
toward the final abyss.”
