Trump called himself the affordability president

President Donald Trump has called himself “the affordability president,” claiming his policies have lowered drug prices. Trump also criticized Democrats’ economic messaging, calling “affordability” a misleading political strategy amid easing inflation. He argued that essential goods prices have fallen while Democrats have exploited economic concerns brought by the Biden administration.

However, some economists and health policy experts have disputed the scale and immediacy of Trump’s claims. His administration’s measures have faced legal challenges, implementation delays, and opposition from the pharmaceutical industry.

Trump wrote online, “Because I have invoked FAVORED NATIONS STATUS FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, DRUG PRICES ARE FALLING AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, 500%, 600%, 700%, and more.”

Trump said, “This is also the answer to much less expensive, and far better, HEALTHCARE! Republicans, remember, this was done by us, and nobody else.”

Independent analysts note there is limited public evidence showing drug prices have fallen by the percentages Trump cited.

Trump stated, “This is a revolution in medicine, the biggest and most important event, EVER. If this story is properly told, we should win the Midterm Elections in RECORD NUMBERS. I AM THE AFFORDABILITY PRESIDENT. TALK LOUDLY AND PROUDLY!”
